OUTFIT STORY:

One see all those ravishing, trendy women's dresses with big price tags hanging all-around the designer boutiques and  Brands out-lets. They are good, first of all if you can afford them, then those saves you from all that hosh-posh of finding correct material to go with design, roaming in markets, arguing with sale-men and the TAILOR MASTER. Ready-made or ready-to-wear dresses always have there own charm. But being on budget motivates you, even if you have kids, to do the job yourself. I did it and how...that's a long story. As it was not one day task it involved many escapades to market from Islamabad to Lahore, but when the dress was ready it was worth all that hard-work.
I spotted the cloth in E-8 market Islamabad, I loved the design of velvet embossed motif on boski linen/lilen (I like this stuff as it does not weigh down with every wash like pure linen/lilen). They had many bright shades but this motif was only available in this shade, and I think they compliment each other. There were other bright shades even some NEON shades but they had embossed carts and big MATKA's(water pitcher) on them, I guessed that those big designs can make me look fat and chubby so I decided to stick to this floral emboss in a skin colour shirt which will also make me look smarter than I am :p.  When I went to Lahore I bought this Black velvet patti approx 2.5 yards from Moon Market. I got it stitched from my trusted tailor. V shaped ban nackline, long sleeves, motif on front (you can make it on the back too) I asked him to make small side-slits, as personally I do not feel comfortable with tights/jegging/chooridaars with long side-slits as it makes every curve more prominent while walking etc doesn't look appropriate, and luckily small side-slits are in fashion too. Now to complete the look I bought the Black Jeggings from F-10 market in one of my visits. This will also be used with my many other shirts so it is a useful investment. The Leopard print stole was bought in one of such shopping visits from Commercial market, Rawal Pindi. I always wanted to have one. This stole can also accompany my other wardrobe. The shoes and accessories are my old ones. Stylo pumps I bought Last year for around Pkr 1000. I just wear simple makeup with it by lining my eyes with my Luscious Black Onyx and CSP Acapulco on my lips.

Total Budget:
Shirt:
Shirt Piece: Pkr 700 (after bargain from Pkr 850)
Velvet patti: 35 x 2.5= 87.5, I paid Pkr 85, bargaining you know...lolz
Stitching: Pkr 250
Total cost: 700 + 85 +250 = Pkr 1035.

Jeggings: Pkr 400
Leopard print stole: Pkr 250
These both can accompany my other dressed too so this one is a wise investment I am sure:)

  17. lovely dress. I have been planning to buy this cloth but then i wasnt sure if the velvet motif would stay the same after several washes. has it come off or started to fade out after washing? I would buy it after your approval only ;) loved the lipstick on your lips and like the shirt style with small slits :)

    1. Dear it is the velvet motif is nazuk but all I did was being extra careful in washing it, very soft hands no rubbing and no washing machine. then I always Iron it from back side opf the motif so it is going quite well... I would suggest do have one and do take extra care, it will not go off that easily, but will fade away with time:)

  18. Oh my! Your outfit is so very pretty! I got a lot of ideas from your OOTD hehe. I agree about the short slits, I hate long slits with choridars or leggings. Love the color combo, you are so creative, MashAllah :)

  19. OMG , do you still pay the same amount to your tailor for shirt stitching ? Tailor prices have increased so much here in Karachi, i am sure, if this is the rate currently, i will get my suits stitched from there :)
